What is the Chrome Profile Pack?

The free Chrome Profile Pack contains custom DNG camera profiles (dcp) for 79 camera models. These are used to set a white balance in Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, and other supported raw editors. They are designed to work on infrared images shot with an IR Chrome filter.

If you shoot IR Chrome images in JPEG with an in-camera custom white balance, you can get good results without the need for profiles.

Lightroom White Balance panel

If you shoot in raw and set a white balance while editing, you may find that the Temp value is limited to the maximum 50,000 Kelvins. In those cases, these profiles will shift the temperature to a lower value, providing more flexibility when setting a white balance.

The profiles in this pack are used to shift the color temperature of your IR Chrome infrared image. While the labels in Lightroom and Camera will continue to display as 2,000 to 50,000, the actual temperature values supported will be different. This allows you to select a desired color temperature value within the range of the slider.

There are two profiles for each camera.

  • Chrome - This profiles shifts the Temperature and Tint, allowing you to get a good white balance with an IR Chrome filter.
  • Chrome+ - This includes the above shift, adds an emphasis on the reds in the image, and reduces the emphasis on the blues.
