Lightroom and Photoshop support a White Balance Temp range of 2,000 Kelvin to 50,000 Kelvin. This range does not provide enough color temperature values required for color infrared digital photography. When using the default Adobe Raw profiles, you may find that your Temp values reach one end of the scale or the other without getting to the desired white balance.
The profiles in this pack are used to shift the color temperature of your infrared image. This allows you to select a desired color temperature value within the existing range. Two profiles are included for each camera; Infrared Temp -50
and Infrared Temp -100
. Different combinations of cameras and infrared cut-off filters may react differently to temperature shifts. This is why two profiles are included.
Installation Instructions
- Verify that your camera is on the list of Supported Cameras. If not, follow the instructions to Add a Camera.
- Download the free Infrared Profile Pack.
- Extract the files for your camera from the zip file.
- Copy the files to the following location. The locations are different for macOS and Windows.
macOS
Use the keyboard shortcut Command + Shift + G to display the Go to the folder dialog, then paste the following path:
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles
Windows
Paste the following path into Windows Explorer, replacing {user name} with your Windows user name:
C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles
Usage Instructions
- Close and restart Lightroom or Photoshop. New profiles are only detected when these programs are started.
- Open your raw or DNG infrared image in Lightroom or Photoshop.
- In the Profile Browser, find the group named
Profiles
. Select one of the color profiles,Infrared Temp -50
orInfrared Temp -100
. - If you do not see these profiles for your camera, ensure that you have copied the correct profiles for your camera to the right location listed above. Restart Lightroom or Photoshop.
- Select a neutral (white, gray, or green) subject in your image using the White Balance color picker.
- If the color temperature value falls between 2,000k and 50,000k, you should have a suitable white balance.
- If the color temperature is exactly 2,000k or 50,000k, switch to the other profile and repeat these steps.
Supported Raw Editors
The following raw editors support DNG Color Profile (*.dcp) files.

Unsupported
The Adobe DNG Profile Editor cannot read DNG files or create profiles for the following cameras. The Adobe DNG Profile Editor only supports dual-illuminant DNG files. Dual-illuminant profiles contain two color profiles, one for tungsten color temperature and one for daylight color temperature. The temperature slider in Lightroom and Camera Raw will blend between these two profiles to set a matching color temperature. DNG files that are single-illuminant or with only an embedded base profile cannot be used to create a temperature-shifted profile in the DNG Profile Editor.
I recommend using darktable, RawTherapee, or ON1 to edit these cameras’ images.

Add a Camera
If your camera does not appear above, I can create profiles with an image from your camera. Please be follow these requirements.
- Raw or DNG files only. Profiles cannot be created from JPG files.
- Images from unconverted cameras taken using a 720nm lens filter
- Images from converted cameras taken using a 470nm to 720nm filter
- No DCP files. I prefer using the raw/dng file to test the profile after it’s created.
- Your raw/dng file will only be used to create the profile and will not be shared.
- Send your raw or dng file.
Thanks!
