Hetch Hetchy Reservoir, Yosemite National Park, shot with unconverted Fujifilm X-T2, B+W 093 830nm deep infrared filter
You can create Deep Infrared images with your existing, unconverted camera. Deep infrared images are shot with an 750nm or greater filter, typically greater than 800nm. This video covers the equipment you’ll need, settings for shooting, and editing in Photoshop and Camera Raw. Shooting deep infrared with an unconverted camera is ideal for those seeking very long exposures in broad daylight.
Here are my recommended Deep Infrared Filters
- B+W 093
- Hoya RM90
- Life Pixel Deep BW IR
- Kolari Vision Deep Black and White
You may also find the Infrared Profile Pack and Photoshop Actions helpful for editing deep infrared images.
